The Gist of Cookie Management

The level of paranoia that you have towards Web cookie management is an indicator of the amount of work you need to put in and the type of strategies that you need to use.

Many people do not even conduct cookie management. Their web browsers accept all cookies and then save them until they expire, that is, if they even expire. Originally, people didn’t even have to worry about tracking these files. Unfortunately, that time has already passed.
There are some people who try to still maintain a certain level of control over cookies that their browsers accept. Effective cookie management strategies vary across different users. You can always ask you managed hosting company for help.

The simplest approach to cookie management, albeit the most inconvenient, is denying all of them altogether. This will, of course, make it difficult for the user to get into sites that require cookies. Worst case scenario is that Websites will not even work properly with cookies disabled. For instance, logging into WordPress.com with denied cookies will only get you in a loading loop that essentially says, ‘you’re not welcome here because you have denied cookies.’

Clear cookies before closing
Another simple strategy is to just configure your browser to clear cookies upon exit. This doesn’t do a lot for undesirable cookies while you’re browsing but it will make sure that your bank login cookie will not be vulnerable to third party access should you log into a questionable site after doing some online banking. Clearing your cookies will also keep you from being permanently logged on to various Websites.

Privacy
There is also a privacy or incognito mode that is provided as options in today’s browsers. They will keep history and cookies separate from the main browser so that they are also cleared once you’re done. This is also great for keeping the local snoops in the dark particularly if you don’t want others to find out which websites you have been visiting.
